Hello World!

“Hello World” has become the quintessential moniker for the first effort at a new programming language, scripting tool, even blog authoring tools.

Its origins to software geeks are from K & R’s The C Programming Language, which I associate with one the golden ages of software development. That it has become the universal label for the first proof that a new software tool does something makes it a fitting title for the inaugural entry of this exploration of what is right with software development products and projects.

There are never-ending headlines about IT project boondoggles; we have all used crummy software, and we hear every day about more programmer jobs going to the lowest off-shore bidder. While some of those kind of stories may be touched upon for comparison, our focus here is to dig into what is going right with software and IT projects (whether on-shore, off-shore, or both).

This is about Software VIGOR.
